Wide swaths of Boulder are unaffected by the 100 year flood (some are calling it 1,000 year flooding), many are affected to various degrees, ranging from landscape damage to seeping basement water to flooded basements.
I drove around briefly to see first hand some of the damage, cognizant to keep out of the way of the rescue and cleanup crews. Most are well west of Boulder but I saw many emergency and cleanup workers. Backhoes, dump trucks, fire jumpers, restoration vans, with Chinook and Blackhawk helicopters flying overhead. Hard to believe and now the flood is heading to the east, many homes and counties to the east and northeast of Boulder are experiencing flooding.
As I write this there are 7 confirmed dead, and 1,300 unaccounted for.
While it's tragic for too many, a tremendous burden for others, life goes on.
I'll post more pictures as possible.
