I've had people tell me that Boulder must have 12' of snow throughout the winter, I respond that while we do get snow (an average of 87 inches per year per
Wikipedia), it rarely sticks around. Below are some images of an example - in 4 days we went from 50 degrees to 66 degrees, in between we had 13 inches of snow.
Total this April has been almost 4' of snow:
Boulder Daily Camera report
 |
April 22nd, no snow on the ground in Boulder |
 |
April 23rd, 8 inches on the ground and still falling |
 |
April 26th, a wee bit of snow left, gone the next day |
If you absolutely have to be able to travel it's best to have 4x4 cars, but people ride bikes, hike, run and climb run year round.
